Training Band is a wonderful way to introduce your child to music. Students learn together with their peers in a supportive environment and no prior musical experience is necessary.
Applications for Training Band open in Term 4, for commencement in Term 1 of the following year. All students who will be in Year 3 or above in the starting year can apply.
Details of information sessions and how to apply will be sent out to families and advertised in the school newsletter.
What instruments are available?
The instruments on offer at Beecroft are:
Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trombone, Euphonium, French Horn, Trumpet, Bass Guitar, Tuba, Percussion.

The number of each instrument offered will be determined by the music director, to ensure a good balance of sound when the band plays together. We do take student preferences into account when assigning instruments, but we also try to match each student to an instrument that suits them. For instance, if your child’s first choice is saxophone by their hands are too small to reach all the keys, we will probably recommend another instrument to start with.
Every instrument has an important part to play and offers different opportunities.
